Conference Venue
The 2024 Preparedness Summit will be held in the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland. Located in the heart of downtown Cleveland, the Center is located within walking distance of exceptional restaurants, art galleries, theaters, entertainment districts, professional sports venues, and hotels.
Sustainability
The Center lives and breathes green. Here’s a peek at some of its most influential initiatives:
- Grind2Energy Program: An onsite Grind2Energy system that allows the Center to convert food wasted to energy, natural gas, electricity, and soil nutrients. In 2018, the Grind2Energy systems converted 40,000 lbs. of food scraps into energy that powered 72 houses.
- Water ReFill Stations: To help reduce the use of plastic bottles, the Center has five strategically placed water re-fill stations that have replaced 26,241 bottles annually.
- Green Rooftop: The Center lives under a 14-acre green rooftop that makes up its outdoor space.
- Smart Lighting: A control system that uses daylight harvesting by taking advantage of the extensive natural light.

NACCHO is aware of previous housing scams involving room poaching, the practice carried out by third-party companies that act as travel agencies, wholesalers or destination management companies to solicit registrants and exhibitors for room reservations for society or other organizations meetings. If you are contacted by anyone asking if you need a room for the Preparedness Summit who is not a representative with NACCHO, please collect as much information as you can and share with us directly.
