NACCHO Policy on Children Attending Conferences

NACCHO welcomes children and dependents to attend any component of our annual conferences free of charge. As an attendee, you are welcome to bring your child to any conference function, including plenaries, general sessions, networking receptions, or other events. For the purposes of this policy, “children” are defined as birth children, stepchildren, adopted children, and dependents. NACCHO’s primary concern at our conferences is the safety and security of our attendees and their children. For safety reasons, children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult guardian registered for the conference. If the child becomes a distraction, we ask the guardian step out to address the needs of the child and then reenter the session. Each adult guardian is responsible for the supervision and safety of the accompanying child or dependent. Additionally, NACCHO has assigned space for parents with lactation needs. Please ask for these locations when you pick up your registration materials, and we will also do our best to mark them on maps and printed materials.
